TPS Adapter Kit for Ford Sierra and Escort (Single-Point Injection)

The TPS Adapter Kit is designed to install a Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) from a Daewoo Lanos onto a Ford Sierra or Escort equipped with single-point injection (mono-injection). This custom kit provides a reliable and cost-effective replacement for a failed or obsolete OEM factory sensor.

Note: Replacing automotive components requires appropriate mechanical experience and skills.

The adapter kit consists of several main components:

1 – The base plate, which, together with the shaft and actuator lever, is mounted in place of the original Ford TPS using two M5 screws;

2 – The sensor mounting plate, which fits into the guide hole of Part 1. The Lanos TPS is mounted to this part using M4 screws;

3 – The transmission shaft, which transfers movement from the Ford throttle valve to the Lanos TPS via the actuator lever. It is installed together with the lever and Part 1;

4 – The actuator lever, which directly catches the movement from the Ford throttle valve and transfers it to the transmission shaft.

Installation Procedure

  1. Assemble Part 1 and the transmission shaft. Thread the actuator lever onto the shaft and secure it with a lock nut. Additional measures (e.g., thread locker) should be taken to prevent the nut and lever from loosening over time;
  2. Mount this assembled unit in place of the original TPS. If necessary, carefully shape/bend the actuator lever to ensure proper contact geometry;
  3. Attach the Daewoo Lanos TPS to Part 2 using M4 screws, taking measures to ensure the screws are secured against loosening;
  4. Insert the assembly from step 3 into the assembly from step 2 so that the protruding edge of Part 2 fully seats into the recess of Part 1, and the longitudinal grooves of the shaft perfectly engage the internal tabs of the Lanos TPS;
  5. Perform a preliminary adjustment of the Lanos TPS by rotating Part 2 until the actuator lever (Part 4) firmly contacts the throttle valve shaft’s tab while in the fully closed position. Once aligned, secure Part 2 to Part 1 using an M4 set screw. Verify the movement transfer by manually opening the throttle valve; when released, the actuator lever must smoothly return to its original closed position;
  6. If necessary, perform a final fine-tuning of the TPS position relative to the throttle valve.
